With The Wonder Years' Dan Lauria and Who's the Boss' Judith Light taking the field at Circle in the Square Theatre in the Broadway drama Lombardi, Broadway.com asked which 1980s TV star-turned-Broadway baby is your favorite. The results are in, and The Addams Family's Bebe Neuwirth landed the top spot with a snap. Back then everybody knew Neuwirth's name as Cheers' Dr. Lillith Sternin-Crane, the mate of series star (and fellow current Broadway actor) Kelsey Grammer. Neuwirth landed the top spot with 38% of the votes.
Patti LuPone, two-time Tony winner and star of the upcoming Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, landed in second place with 25% of votes for her role as Life Goes On matriarch Libby Thacher. Third place found a three-way tie between another TV mom, Judith Light, plus La Cage aux Folles star Grammer and final frontier navigator Patrick Stewart of Star Trek: The Next Generation, who'll open in the Broadway revival of David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre on October 12. All three actors pulled in 9% of votes.
Thanks for voting, and be sure to check out these small-screen stars on stage this fall.
